This is my first landscape quilt and was inspired by the meadows around my farm.  I love the daisy fields in the springtime. To create the scene, I layered the background with muslin, upholstery fabrics and added lace for texture.  After painting the landscape, I stitched the foliage, stems and weeds in place.  I wanted to add more texture in the daisy centers and on the buttercups. To create the depth, I allowed the bobbin thread to raise to the surface. This also provided the opportunity to add other colors as seen in the two shades of yellow gold threads in the daisies centers and on the buttercups.  My last technique to add depth was using organza fabric on the buttercups giving them more dimension.
