This landscape art quilt was inspired by the meadows around my farm. I love the daisies growing wild in the springtime. To create the scene, I layered the background with fringed muslin, upholstery fabrics and lace for texture. I painted the landscape with complimenting colors, and stitched the foliage, stems and weeds in place. The petals of the flowers are created with an especially long free motion stitch I mastered recently. To create more texture, I allow the bobbin thread to raise to the surface which displays more color in the design. Look at the daisy centers and the butter cups and see where two shades of yellow and gold threads are present. To accentuate the buttercups, organza fabric was added to give them more dimension. I know that you will enjoy this country scene in your home.  The edges are wrapped in cream yarn.  The stiff batting I use will allows you options of displaying this art.  You can prop it on an easel, or lean it on a shelf, or hang it from the loops on the back.  This landscape is inspired by artist Wendy Dolan.   I hope that you will enjoy this country scene in your home.  Measures  6 x 12 inches.
