When given this beautiful Japanese wrapping cloth, I knew I had to make it into an art quilt. This piece is made of 100% cotton fabrics and batting. The fabrics are traditional Japanese wrapping cloth, Batik, and commercial fabrics. While creating this piece I used both straight-line quilting and free-motion quilting to add interest and texture. To highlight the pieced blossoms on the bottom, I hand sewed glass beads to their centers. I finished the art quilt with a two pieced binding that adds an extra pop of color and dimension. It has a hanging sleeve on the back for your convenience. Adding this art quilt to your home will bring the beauty of nature into your room.

Care & Cleaning
My wall hangings fall into two categories for their cleaning needs: washable & too fragile for washing.
The second type of wall hanging is NOT washable because it is fragile, and an Art Quilt. You may vacuum the dust off your item regularly with a duster attachment (NOT FULL STRENGTH SUCTION), or simple take it off the wall and give it a good shake to rid it of dust. If it does get a spot or two on it, you can try sponging it off carefully with water first, then a small amount of dish soap if necessary. I have used a pre-wash laundry spray with success. Just wet the spot first, then spray the smallest amount possible, wait 5 minutes, and rub gently. Rinse out the soap as thoroughly as possible.
A washable wall hanging look exactly like a bed quilt. It is made of the top fabric pieces, batting, and backing fabric. Remove the quilt from the hanging rod. Wash in a gentle cycle with cold water, and dry at low heat or air dry on the line or flat-lay dry.
