When given this beautiful Japanese wrapping cloth, I knew I had to make it into an art quilt. This piece is made of 100% cotton fabrics and batting.  The fabrics are traditional Japanese wrapping cloth, Batik, and commercial fabrics.  While creating this piece I used both straight-line quilting and free-motion quilting to add interest and texture.  To highlight the pieced blossoms on the bottom, I hand sewed glass beads to their centers. I finished the art quilt with a two pieced binding that adds an extra pop of color and dimension. It has a hanging sleeve on the back for your convenience.   Adding this art quilt to your home will bring the beauty of nature into your room.
